ABOUT THE ARTIST
Tatiana Berman is a London-based artist whose paintings are held in private collections around the world. Working with Himalayan salt, acrylic, glazes, and iridescent and gold pigments, she builds layered crystalline surfaces that hold light, depth, and subtle movement. Her work has been described as “mesmerising”, “inspiring”, and “radiating luminous energy.” Tatiana is also an internationally performing violinist, described by The Strad as “a violinist with a mature, compelling musical personality.”
ARTIST STATEMENT
My work explores mineral presence and the quiet transformation of matter. Creating has been instinctive to me for as long as I can remember - ideas arrive with persistence and unfold through an intuitive yet deliberate process of layering, glazing, and material exploration. Using Himalayan salt as a primary medium, I build layered crystalline surfaces that shift with light - from luminous and radiant to soft and contemplative. I am drawn to the way salt carries the memory of geological formation, translating that sense of accumulation and compression into compositions that feel both grounded and atmospheric. At the heart of the work is a balance between permanence and fragility - a reflection of the subtle energy that exists within material itself. Each piece is professionally stabilised using archival methods to ensure structural integrity and longevity.
OTHER WORKS
Other works are available to view upon request, representing a glimpse into a much broader practice. Spanning abstraction, lived experience, and the imagery of dreams, each piece is singular and unbound by series. A catalogue is available online and by request - contact info@tatianaberman.com to arrange access or a private viewing.
Commission a Work
Each of Tatiana's paintings begins with a conversation. If you are drawn to a particular series, a colour, a feeling - or if you have a space in mind and want something made specifically for it - commission enquiries are welcome from collectors worldwide. Commissioned works are created using the same materials and methods as the exhibited pieces, Himalayan salt, acrylic, glazes, and iridescent and gold pigments, and are professionally stabilised for longevity. Each piece is unique and will not be reproduced.
